The above identity statement highlights our three core values as a church:
As a church we are rooted and founded on God’s Word. The Bible is the ultimate authority for our life and practice as a church – from corporate worship to expositional preaching to the various ministries God gives us the opportunity to pursue.
We are a family of imperfect people united in Christ, bearing with one another in love, speaking God’s Word to each other, carrying one another’s burdens, and seeking to help one another move forward in Christ.
As a church we are seeking to grow more like Christ as we grow together in Christ in order to share His love with other people.
We organize this process of helping others move forward in Christ around four Es (taken from The Vine Project by Colin Marshall and Tony Payne):
Engage: We seek to engage those who don’t yet know Christ through acts of service, personal relationships, hospitality, and other events and ministries.
Evangelize: We seek to prayerfully speak the Gospel to those who don’y yet know Christ, as God gives opporunities in a variety of contexts.
Establish: We seek to help new believers get established in the faith by teaching them how to read the Bible, how to pray, how to worship, how to get involved in community and ministry, etc.
Equip: We seek to train and equip growing believers to prayerfully help others grow by sharing God’s Word with them.
