Welcome to Weymouth Community Church
Weymouth Community Church is committed to helping people follow Jesus, in Medina and beyond. If you have questions about the church or your own spiritual life, feel free to contact Pastor Greg Whiting at 330-441-5322 or email@example.com.
Meetings and services at the church are postponed until further notice as we desire to be diligent to protect your health and take the counsel of our government officials on the national, State and local levels.
Join Pastor Greg live on Facebook on Sunday mornings at 10:30
See directions from the Tech Team if you don’t have Facebook (next announcement). You can also view or listen to the message at a later time on our website. If you know of someone who does not have internet access, printouts of the message can be sent to them…just let us know!
From the WCC Tech Team
You do not need to be a Facebook user to watch our live stream on Sunday morning at 10:30. To access the live stream — go to https://weymouthchurch.com and click the floating white “f” in the blue circle on the left of the page. That will take you to our Facebook page. If you are not a Facebook user or are using a device you haven’t logged in to before, a “mask” will pop up over our Facebook page. In the bottom of that mask, click the “Not Now” link. Our page will load and you will be able to watch the live stream.
The Tech Team is offering to assist those of you that are struggling with your personal technology during this time of social distancing. Our priority first and foremost is your and our health and well-being, so person-to-person assistance and traveling will be limited. That being said, we will review requests on a case-by-case basis and attempt to help you the best we can. Please contact Kerry Pixton (firstname.lastname@example.org) so that he can assess your situation.
Ladies’ Sunday morning Bible Study
We will meet on Zoom at 9:00. Even if you haven’t already been a part of this class, you are welcome to join us now! Please send a message to Teresa at email@example.com if you’d like to be included. We will catch up on life, pray for one another, and discuss God’s Word together!
Adults wishing to join a virtual Sunday School class
If you’re looking to connect with people at 9:00 on Sunday morning in your jammies, get in touch with Doug Varner (firstname.lastname@example.org). He, Mike and Russ will be continuing to lead a study of God’s Word through the aid of How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth. Doug will be sending out a Zoom invite via email to the list of existing attendees. If you wish to join the class or missed the email, contact Doug (e-mail above).
Nursery Sunday School
Information about this month’s lesson and memory verse is available at https://weymouthchurch.com/ministries/childrens-ministry/. Nursery parents, please contact Emily Varner (email@example.com) with prayer requests for your families, for the password to view the video, for a copy of the nursery coloring page, and for other ideas for related at-home activities. Also, the Truth 78 curriculum publisher has posted some helpful articles for parents related to Sunday School being cancelled, disease and disasters, and compassion. These are at https://www.truth78.org/blog.
COMMUNION this Sunday, April 26!
Even while we worship together over Facebook Live, we would like to celebrate communion after opening announcements. This is for anyone in your household who has placed their faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. It is one of the things Jesus asked us to do until He returns. We are remembering the death of Jesus and the redemption that was possible because of it.
The symbols for His body and blood are the bread and the cup. We use unleavened bread, which represents the sinless body of Christ that went through great suffering, and juice that represents His blood. You are welcome to use whatever you have available that represents His body and blood for you. So, please be prepared near the beginning of our service that day; or if you end up watching the recorded video later, you can certainly do it at that time. Pastor Greg will give further instructions on that day. Thanks for considering this opportunity to celebrate communion together!
Men’s Saturday morning Bible Study, May 2
We will meet on Zoom at 7:30am. Have your breakfast ready and we will study the leadership lessons of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark (Mark 4:26ff). Men, even if you haven’t joined us before, you are welcome to join us now! Please send a message to Russell Kinnebrew at firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to be included. Zoom meeting details and an invite will be sent to you. We meet on the first and third Saturdays of every month.
Celebrating Debbie Mason’s years of service
Our scheduled celebration for May 3 has been postponed until further notice.
